Editorial Policy

Last Updated: May 10, 2026

PlayZ Arcade publishes daily gaming news, reviews, guides, and opinion alongside the largest free browser-game catalog we can curate. This editorial policy explains how that content is produced, who is responsible for it, and the standards we hold ourselves to.

1. Editorial Independence

PlayZ Arcade's editorial team operates independently of advertising, partnership, and game-distribution relationships. Reviews, recommendations, and rankings are not influenced by whether a game appears in our hosted catalog, whether a publisher advertises on the site, or whether a developer has a commercial relationship with us.

When a piece of content is sponsored, paid for, or written in commercial cooperation with a third party, it will be clearly labelled as such at the top of the article. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage.

2. Who Writes Our Content

Articles are written by the PlayZ Arcade editorial team and contributing writers. Each article carries a byline that links to the author's profile, where you can find their background, areas of expertise, and other published work on the site.

Where an article does not have a named author byline, it is the work of the PlayZ Arcade editorial team collectively and reviewed by the managing editor before publication.

3. Sourcing and Attribution

We prefer primary sources wherever possible: official developer or publisher announcements, press releases, verified social media posts from people directly involved, on-the-record interviews, and our own gameplay testing. When we report on something covered by another outlet, we link to and credit the original source.

Quotes are reproduced verbatim from the source material. We do not invent, embellish, or paraphrase quotes in a way that changes their meaning. Translations from non-English sources are noted as such.

4. Reviews and Recommendations

Game reviews on PlayZ Arcade reflect the writer's honest opinion based on hands-on play. Where a review is based on a limited preview or a publisher-provided build, that limitation is disclosed in the article. Star or score ratings are calibrated against the gaming category — a 9/10 puzzle game is judged against other puzzle games, not against AAA action releases.

“Best of” lists, recommendations, and rankings reflect editorial judgment. Inclusion is not paid for and cannot be purchased. If a list includes a game we host on PlayZ Arcade, that hosting relationship is disclosed inline.

5. Use of AI and Automation

Editorial articles on PlayZ Arcade are written by humans. AI tools may be used in the production workflow for tasks like research summarisation, copy editing, headline brainstorming, or generating cover-image alt text — but the analysis, opinions, and final wording in any article are the work of a named editor.

Some site automation does run independently: in-content links to other articles or to game pages on this site can be added by an automated linker after publication. This automation does not change the underlying article text and is limited to wrapping existing mentions in hyperlinks.

6. Updates and Corrections

When facts change after publication — a release date moves, a publisher revises a statement, a feature is removed — we update the article and append an “Updated” date at the top. Substantive corrections (rather than typo fixes) are flagged inline with a brief note describing what was changed.

For a detailed account of how we verify facts and handle disputes, see our Fact-Check Policy.

7. Reporting an Issue

If you believe an article contains a factual error, a missing source, or a conflict of interest we should have disclosed, please reach out via our contact page. We aim to acknowledge correction requests within two business days and to publish any required correction promptly.

8. Comments and User-Generated Content

Comments on articles and games are submitted by readers and represent their own views, not those of PlayZ Arcade. We moderate for spam, abuse, and obvious bad-faith content but do not edit reader comments for opinion or grammar. Comments that violate our community guidelines are removed without notice.

9. Diversity and Inclusion

We aim for editorial coverage that reflects the breadth of the gaming audience. Our writing avoids language that demeans groups based on gender, race, sexuality, religion, or disability, and we apply the same standards to comment moderation.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Editorial Policy as our editorial practices evolve. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Significant revisions will be summarised at the top of the page for at least 30 days after publication.
